A total of 20 students from the Cendekia School of Economics (STIEKIA) Bojonegoro attended a public lecture on the upstream oil and gas industry organized by SKK Migas at the Eastern Hotel Bojonegoro on Thursday (10/29/2026). This activity was attended by students from various universities in Bojonegoro Regency as an effort to broaden the younger generation's insights regarding the oil and gas industry and its contribution to national energy security.
The STIEKIA students were accompanied by Ahmad Saifurriza Effasa, S.HI., M.M., as Vice Chairman III for Student Affairs, and Murtini, S.E., M.M., as Public Relations and Student Affairs representative of STIEKIA.
This public lecture featured three speakers who provided presentations on the role of SKK Migas, the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) industrial complex, as well as the management of oil and gas production results and corporate social responsibility.
Understanding the Role of SKK Migas in National Energy Security
The first speaker, Singgih P. Perdana, presented material titled “The Role of SKK Migas in Supporting National Energy Security”.

The material also discussed the stages of upstream oil and gas activities, starting from the search for oil and gas resources, the drilling process, to strategies for achieving production targets.
The presentation provided students with an overview of the complexity of the upstream oil and gas industry and the importance of optimal energy resource management to support national energy security.
Getting to Know the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) Industrial Complex
The second material was delivered by M. Luthfi Hangga Umbara with the theme “Overview of the JTB Complex”.
In this session, the speaker introduced the Jambaran-Tiung Biru (JTB) industrial complex located in the Banyuurip area, Gayam District, Bojonegoro Regency. Students received an explanation regarding the JTB industrial area along with the various facilities and industrial systems contained within it.
The presentation covered various parts of the JTB complex that have different functions and operational systems, ranging from oil and gas processing facilities to flare systems.
Through this material, students gained a deeper insight into the processes and industrial facilities of the oil and gas sector that play a role in supporting production activities and energy resource processing.
Understanding Oil and Gas Production Results and CSR Programs

In addition, the speaker also discussed CSR programs as a form of corporate social responsibility toward the community and the environment around the operational area.
Through this presentation, students gained an understanding that the existence of the oil and gas industry is not only related to production and energy processing activities but also has a responsibility to support social development and community welfare in its operational areas.
Expanding Student Insights through Campus and Industry Synergy
STIEKIA Vice Chairman III for Student Affairs, Ahmad Saifurriza Effasa, S.HI., M.M., stated that the students' participation in this activity is part of the campus's efforts to expand learning experiences and increase students' insights into the industrial world.
“Through this public lecture activity, students are expected to gain new knowledge and experience directly from practitioners. These insights serve as important preparation for students to understand industrial developments and prepare themselves to face the challenges of the working world,” he said.
One of the participating students also mentioned that the activity provided a valuable learning experience, especially in understanding the upstream oil and gas industry processes that were previously only known through classroom learning.
“Through this public lecture, we gained a more realistic picture of the oil and gas industry, starting from the resource exploration process to processing and its contribution to society. This activity also broadened our insights regarding opportunities and challenges in the industrial world,” he said.
For students in the fields of economics and management, an understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry has important relevance in viewing the connection between the energy sector and economic activities, resource management, regional development, and corporate social responsibility.
STIEKIA continues to encourage students to actively participate in various academic activities, seminars, public lectures, and scientific forums as part of competency development and increasing competitiveness.
Through participation in this activity, it is hoped that STIEKIA students will have broader insights, an adaptive mindset, and readiness to face the challenges of the working world and industrial developments in the future.
This activity also serves as a form of synergy between universities and the industrial world in supporting the development of superior and competitive human resources.
